Everywhere I Went, Everyone Was Godfrey

This is my favorite scene in my favorite screwball comedy, 1936's My Man Godfrey. Carole Lombard was as witty and talented as they come, the kind of performer who created magic with every scene partner. The proof? Her costar here is William Powell, who was not only her ex-husband by the time they started filming, but who also asked Universal Pictures to hire her because he thought she was the funniest person in Hollywood.
